Thomas F. Lansdale III M.D. LLC is a private, independent, solo internal medicine (comprehensive medical care of adults) practice located on the campus of the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. The practice is grounded in the belief that both healing from disease and the pursuit of a healthy life require an on-going collaboration between patients and their physicians. Fundamental to this philosophy is the fact that this collaboration requires much more time than is typical of today’s patient-doctor interactions. Therefore, new patient visits and annual comprehensive examinations are accorded no less than ninety minutes of true clinical time, and return visits are usually not less than thirty minutes’ duration. Two-hour initial visits for patients with complex health problems are not uncommon. The practice embraces both the art and science of medicine and emphasizes the role of education in helping patients better understand their medical problems and work towards life-long wellness.
Dr. Lansdale has been practicing and teaching internal medicine since 1985. He served on the faculties of Harvard Medical School and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He was Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Greater Baltimore Medical Center from 1996 to 2005. He continues his involvement with GBMC’s commitment to medical education by participating in teaching rounds and by precepting internal medicine trainees during their three-year residency.
Dr. Lansdale’s practice is deliberately small. The practice operates as a “retainer” model, in which each patient pays a modest annual fee to be a member. There are no other fees or expenses rendered to the patient. Please see the FAQ section for more details.
